During a panel at Denver Comic Con last year, a young woman contending with bullies in her school asked wilwheaton if he’d ever been called a ‘nerd’ when he was a kid. There is absolutely nothing awesome about bullying, but Wil’s heartfelt response with words of support and advice was so resoundingly awesome that we simultaneously grabbed a tissue, applauded and whooped for joy. If you are or have ever been bullied for simply being yourself, please watch this.

But wait, there’s more. When this video recently surfaced on Reddit, both of the girl’s parents chimed in to thank Wil and provide an update on how their daughter is doing now. Click here for their follow up and a transcript of this video.

Wil Wheaton, as proud nerds (and fans) the Geyser of Awesome salutes and thanks you.

Love this!

These awesomely intricate layered cut paper sculptures are the work of Virginia-based artist and professor Eric Standley. We shared some of his beautiful creations here last year, but these photos provide a much better look at just how astonishingly delicate and intricate Standley’s creations are. They’re incredibly complex stained glass windows without the glass.

Visit Eric Standley’s website to check out more of his awesome paper art.
